Can I basically use my laptop as a router?
I work remotely from home. Everything I do is done over my laptop (which has Windows 7) which is connected wireless to my modem which is in a different part of the house. Starting next week, my company is also going to start having me use an IP phone as a work phone. It is of course required that I connect with phone into a router with an ethernet cable. However, the router is not in my office. So I’m wondering if there is a way that I can plug it into the ethernet port on my laptop and have it connect to the internet that way essentially making my laptop also act as a router. The phone is a Nortel IP Phone 2004 Model NTDU92. Can someone tell me if this can be done and how I would do it?

I’ve not tried it, but I believe you need to create a ‘Network Bridge’ between the wireless and wired network ports on your laptop.
There’s an article here:

About setting up a network bridge in Windows XP – I would imagine it is similar on Windows 7. A google search for ‘network bridge windows 7′ brings up plenty of articles.
