I tried to start a cell phone service on ATT online, at the end it says "Depending on your credit information, a deposit may be required to activate service. We are unable to accept deposits online"
does this mean that i can set up an account in the store with a deposit? and does anyone know how much that deposit may be?

Yes you can set up an account in store. The deposit depends on your credit. If you have no credit it will be $500 if you have little credit it will probably be between $0 and $150.
The deposit is probably as much as the first payment….. 100 bucks-ish
If you don’t pass the credit check, AT&T may allow you to sign a contract if you pay a security deposit. The amount will depend on your credit score, the phone and the plan. It can be as little as $100 for a basic phone and plan and run as high as $1,000 for an iPhone and plan.
