Right on their opportunity site is an income disclaimer which states:
"Success as a 5LINX® Representative is not guaranteed, but rather influenced by an individual’s specific efforts. Not all 5LINX® Independent Representatives make a profit and no one can be guaranteed success as a 5LINX® Independent Representative.
5LINX® Earnings Statement: These are the average annual earnings for U.S. 5LINX® active Independent Representatives in 2006 based on position: Customer Representative, $55; Independent Marketing Representative $261; Executive Trainer $2,536; Executive Director $10,816; National Director $67,147; Senior Vice President $236,904.
Active Independent Representatives are those that enrolled or renewed during the year. The distribution of qualified representatives by position is: Customer Representative 45%, Independent Marketing Representative 48%; Executive Trainer 6%; Executive Director 1%; National Director .4%; Senior Vice President .1%.
5LINX® Independent Representatives are prohibited from making any claims of earnings other than the amounts provided above."
what this means is that 45% on average made around $55 on average – advancing to executive trainer making $2600+ – only 6% have that rank. I would not consider this a stellar opportunity.
Sign up fee is $499, with a $99 renewal fee. If you cut through all the gloss and hype reality is you will get very little for your efforts… from 15 cents per customer up… that means a LOT of customers…
Also there is no copy of the policies and procedures available on the site. This is the legal contract between you and the company. Would you buy ANY thing before reading the legal documents?
If you don’t like the service and cancel before 12 months end – there is a $99 cancel fee
The disclaimer information on the company website is commonly found in many network marketing and MLM companies.
The how to earn money is common too. You get customers and customer getters (reps, distributors, consultants, etc)
You will be compensated for your efforts based upon the comp plan provided by the company.
Is it a good deal? I can not speak for the 5linx opportunity. This form of business can be good if you understand how to target market. Some traditional techniques do more harm than good. It is important to study the industry prior to getting involved. Some comp plans pay outs are better than others. Service businesses are great for the customers but the pay out for the reps are small. Most of the earnings will come through recruiting others into the opp.
Best Regards!
