How many voip lines can you operated at one time on cable connection?

I am researching different options for a client that is interested in setting up a call center? I would like to know if we install a cable broadband services how many vonage/ voip lines can be talking at once without any errors..?
thanks for the additional help, however what is my best option to get more VOIP lines working at once? Running two dsl lines into the business? I am trying to keep the cost down however we could always just get normal phone service from verizon. A further help would be great thanks

It all depends on how fast your connection is. Since you will be using it for business I would be sure to have a business internet plan that will guarantee uptime.
Normal residential DSL is no longer dedicated bandwidth for each user, so it is about the same as cable. A business DSL line, or T1 line, will give you your own guaranteed bandwidth.

Note that each service will be a little different, and the quality you choose will make a bigger difference. If you just want to try a fun test, have a Skype conference call between computers in your office, adding another caller until call quality degrades.
Because of the priority packet streaming needed to deliver voice without delay 1 usually, you can attempt to use more devices but will notice severe delay while trying to utilize both simultaneously
Actually cable broadband service is the most unreliable as far as 24/7/365 available bandwidth.
Many cable companies oversubscribe their facilities in the hopes that not all the users will want access at one time, that’s why many cable modem users, especially in apartments or other consolidated living area’s, complain that there upload and download speed reduces during peak hours.
The best service tends to be ADSL within metropolitan areas where the line is designated to the user with no other users on it all the way to the central office.
