It’d be nice to have only one gadget to go through the day with as I’m pretty mobile.
I use an iphone presently. the screen is so small though.
Geekspeakpedia~ would it be too much to ask for it to have a bluetooth earpiece too? Thanks much!

What you are looking for is a netbook with the correct programs on it. A netbook is a very small and lightweight computer that you can carry pretty much anywhere. Using a device like a smartphone or a wireless internet adapter that would let you get internet anywhere, you could set up a program such as Skype to be your personal phone line, and also you can set up your e-mail as text.
Any phone user can send a text message to your e-mail, which you can respond from as well. You would be able to use your netbook to respond to text e-mails, and you could get your calls through Skype. The service for Skype is a paid service, just like the wireless internet adapter would be, however, Skype keeps your voicemails for when you aren’t able to answer calls.
Try a Blackberry.
You can actually try the latest netbooks which comes with inbuilt phone cards. These can be used as a laptop and also the phone card enables it to be used as a telephone. This also haves the ability to use text on it, just make sure how much it costs from the network which comes with the device. I believe you can actually configure yours to come with whichever you want.
You can also use the card to connect to the internet aswell just like an Aircard.
You can also connect a bluetooth headset to this netbook and be handsfree.
