I listen to calls conducted by consultants and health advisors that I need to go back and listen to again or just parts of them. Permission to record is granted for these calls. I am a tech newbiew and have been told there are options to get phone service through the net but I don’t know the details or if any have this feature. Does anyone have any specific info? Or if this is not an offered feature is there a software program or some way to accomplish this separately?

One completely free option is to apply for a Google Voice invite.
Once you get a Google Voice number in your area code, then you can have that number forwarded to any phone number you like, for free. Then when you receive calls, just press "4" to record the calls. The calls are stored in your GV account and can be played back at any time.

TMCnet has a great article that covers everything you ever wanted to know about recording voip calls. The article is at http://blog.tmcnet.com/blog/tom-keating/voip/voip-call-recording.asp
The Express Talk softphone has call recording as a feature, and it can be used with just about any SIP provider, so it would be a good internet phone to take a look at: http://www.nch.com.au/talk/index.html
