My mom installed a tracking software on my computer! Help!?

   Okay, I won’t say that, but your parents do have control over you until you’re 18 or emancipated.

   Now as to your problem there’s a simple solution. You need to get yourself a thumb drive with a Linux operating system on it or burn a live CD with Linux on it. The CD will boot and bypass the OS on the computer, but with the memory stick you may need to change the boot order on your pc. If you’re worried about not being able to have access to your bookmarks, you can always use XMarks for Firefox to synchronize your bookmarks and you won’t have to worry about that.

   Really the best solution is to sit down with your mom and ask her why she won’t let you do what you want and start to earn her trust. My suggestions above will work for you but it may get you in more trouble down the road.

   I read in wire magazine that if you download a different browser that it won’t track it because it’s not set up too. It’s been a while though soooo if it doesn’t work im sorry. Also my condolences. Or if you want a more personal approach, you could wipe the entire computer clean and tell her enough is enough.

   If there was SpectorSoft on your PC she wouldn’t have to ask for your username and pw because she would already have that info (SpectorSoft records all keystrokes). Maybe she is looking in the Temporary Internet Files….delete those after you are finished.
