I have posted my resume on Careerbuilder, snagajob.com, a few local ones, and I have yet to receive ONE call back. I know there are jobs out there, and I have alot of administrative support and customer service, as well as some accounting experience, and I went to college for almost 2 years, yet I am having the absolute hardest time finding something!! I dont want to be wasting my time, so has anybody out there had any success with these job search engines??

I think this is a telemarketing scam. It’s alleged that this company, with some human engineering, gets the names of purchasing agents and orders printer toner with out there knowledge. The recycled toner cartridges are 300% to 400% over priced and it’s hoped that accounting will just pay the bill without asking questions. Does this sound familiar?

My company currently only has a very basic online retail website, and we would like to redevelop this to boost our online sales. We are a small-mid sized re-distributor for various manufacturers, and currently handle the vast majority of our orders via phone/fax.

We need a customizable Ecommerce platform that will allow us to create a very functional website with a lot of personalization for the users . We are in a unique niche, and our users require some non-standard features & ordering processes that we would need built into the site.

I am looking into various solutions. Ideally, we would like a system that offers CRM, accounting, inventory, POS integration, and other enterprise management tools.

I’ved looked into Oracle, but frankly, it all confuses the hell out of me. They offer so many products/solutions, i’m not sure if this is even what we need. Do they offer an ecommerce platform, or how would it be integrated into a website?

As a redistributor we only currently carry a small inventory of product. Generally we receive orders, put in an order to the manufacturer, receive the product, and then ship it almost immediately. However, as our online business grows, eventually we’ll expand our inventory to hold products we find are most desired through sales analysis/metrics.

Do you have any suggestions on good enterprise software for us? Have you had any bad experience? Is Oracle the way to go? Where can I find a good developer/IT guy that would aid in the implementation of this?

As a psych major I am well aware that my major is useless on its own so I am going to get some background in business by majoring in human resource management. My college also offers seven other business minors, accounting, business administration, economics, international business, management, management information systems, marketing, and personal financial planning. Which of these would be beneficial along with my HRM minor?

Seems like Quickbooks and MYOB get sketchy reviews online. Is there a good accounting product for small businesses that is Mac-based? I need simple and robust.

Will the GDP number be sold to us without accounting for inflation?
Gas prices up 8% this month, but GDP grew.

I have worked in the Accounting field for 9 years. I have been an Accounting Specialist, Staff Accountant, and Controller. I have already developed a website for my business, have a business phone, and business cards. But that’s where it ends. I’ve been researching rates here and elsewhere online and I have a fairly good idea of what to charge.

Is it possible to partner with local CPAs to get clients for my business?

I am taking security deposits and I am wondering what I need to call the account for accounting purposes. It is money that I can not consider cash… because I might need to give it back after a term or two.

basically i had opened a new checking account elsewhere and had notified the bank that i would be wiring money out of the account. at my new bank they said the wiring into the account would act as a "cash advance" and the money would be instantly available. now the old bank is trying to say my account is 00 overdrawn and they keep calling me. if that is really the case, why should i pay for their accounting mistake? can they make me pay it back i.e. seek legal help?

I am in need of a software for invoicing plus accounting for my business of Whole Sale dealing in Books & School Stationary Materials.

The person I am referring to majored in Economics in college and took 24 credit hours in Accounting from a college where he didn’t receive a degree. Has not been licensed as a CPA in any state.

I finished a basement over a year and a half ago and one of the suppliers just now called and said they don’t see where I paid. They’re usually very on top of their accounting and send out statements every month. I know I paid this bill. I just moved and all of my checks are somewhere in storage. I don’t want to spend a week looking through everything I have to find that one check. After more than a year and a half without sending and invoice is there anything they can do? What’s the time frame for them being able to take any action against me, if there is any?

I’m thinking of using MS accounting express. Would that work for bookkeeping with multiple clients? Are there any open source alternatives?
