I want a phone STRICTLY for texting. What service would be cheapest to get unlimited texting? Should I get a prepaid phone like Net 10, Tracfone, etc.. Or get a prepaid phone like Alltel Prepaid (I think is the best bet), Verizon, or AT&T Prepaid? I live in an Idaho area (83234). What would be the cheapest to get just unlimited texting on?

I got my mom a cell phone about 2 years ago to bring her up to the technology world and finally have a cell phone. I didnt realize when I got her the phone that the numbers are really hard to see and the key pad is really small for her. I have her set up with Alltel and I know she is due for a new phone soon. Can anyone tell me what kind of phone has bigger numbers and a bigger screen to see who is calling?

Please do not include prepaid service (such as Boost Mobile or Virgin Mobile), but only contracted service (such as Alltel, Nextel, Cingular, etc.). My buddy is a long haul truck driver, and he is sick of prepaid mobile which costs too much. He is on the road for weeks on end, and would like to know what mobile phone gets the best service and the most extensive coverage. Thank you in advance as I appreciate your advice immensely.

I searched for quite some time on Google and couldn’t find my answer.
Will someone with Alltel prepaid (and regular) cell phones still be able to use them when Verizon takes over Alltel at the end of the year?
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
I will pick best answer.

Are prepaid mobile phone numbers portable to other mobile plans and/or traditional phone lines or VOIP?
Basically, can I signup for a prepaid plan from ATT/Cingular, T-mobile, Verizon/Alltel to use the phone number until I get an office line setup, and then transfer that number to a permanent land line?

I am seeking information for a study regarding the top selling cell phones of the last 18 months. I am trying to find a list that shows the top 5 or 6 best selling mobile devices (including smartphones, PDA’s, etc.) for each of the major carriers. (Verizon, AT&T / Cingular, Sprint / Nextel, Alltel Wireless, T-Mobile). I am hoping to be able to go back to January 2006 with this information if possible. Thanks!

I am moving to California, don’t know exactly where, yet. LA coast area. I live in Ga, we have two major phone services here, Alltel (yuk) and Bellsouth. I want to know so I can start setting up service now. But I don’t know who to call.

I currently use Nextel for business purposes, but I was told a lot of people switched from Nextel (since the merger with Sprint) to Cingular. In your opinion, which is better? I live in Northcentral Florida, and have string of business interests. I have Alltel for personal use only, but I feel its a "perfect" phone to met my family needs and other personal needs but not a "perfect" phone for business purposes. Thank you in advance.
