I have vonage and would like to give callers the options of ringing the home number or 1 of 4 other mobile numbers (Dial 1 for Suzy, 2 for Billy, etc…). Vonage can forward to one number after a certain number of rings or it can simultaneously ring up to 5 other numbers. Is there a way to set this up with Vonage or other service? I was hoping that Google voice could do it but after looking into it, it doesn’t have the capability. Any suggestions?

I’m going to buy a new laptop, but can’t decide between two models. One with Bluetooth, the other without. I’m wondering how important is Bluetooth. I’ll get a cell phone with Bluetooth capability. Are people using Bluetooth and cell phone to connect their laptops on the Internet? I know this is expensive right now, but will this bluetooth link become essential over time? If it’s just something nice to have, I’m leaning towards skipping it. Could someone knowledgeable please speak from your experience? Thanks.

How important is bluetooth capability in a laptop?

I’m in the market of getting a new laptop, and I’ve been building one with Dell because they are having a good deal. But I’m wondering should I put in bluetooth capability? All I have right now is a cell phone that uses it, and I haven’t used anything else with bluetooth yet. Is bluetooth going to be something extremely important in the near future (3-4 years), that I should just fork the money over for it?

I hear of other companies being able to do such things like transfer calls from a land line to someone’s cell phone or from one land line to another land line. Is this capability unique to the phone system hardware that was installed or can this be done with any old phone system?

I have a phone system with multiple lines and would like to forward calls to cell phones and to another satellite office which also has multiple lines (but you call through one number). How do I do this if it’s possible.

Thank you,

Just bought a new Ford Edge limited that has the Sync system. I can get the phone to hook up to the system via bluetooth, but I can’t get the phone book to download. I know technically, the blackjack doesn’t have that capability. Does anyone know of any hacks or programs I can install on it so that I can have voice activated dialing?

Do they have the capability (like GPS and other locating methods) coz my friend has lost his phone from a thief.

I’ve been looking at newegg.com item numbers N82E16881338033 and N82E16881192134. Any thoughts? I’d like to have 30fps per camera. I need four cameras minimum and six max. We also wish to have remote viewing capability with possible phone compatibility.

I work for a non-profit organization, and we are in need of an asset management and tracking system. Our focus is on empowering people through the use of technology, so we lend out computers, cameras, and other sorts of technology to our clients.

We would like a system, preferably with barcode scanning capability that will assist us in this process. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I’d like to be able to connect to my wireless internet in my house (as opposed to having a data plan) with AT&T. What phones have this capability?
Thanks for the input. One clarification – I’m not looking for blackberries or the iPhone because I’m trying to avoid paying extra for a data plan. 80% of my life is spent around wireless networks – I’d rather just surf those for free rather than paying for a data plan.

I am trying to prove that I made a call from a pay phone in Berkeley. CA in early 2005. I have been told by someone at the phone company that if you use only coins, no phone card, that there is no record of outgoing phone calls from pay phones. (This is incredible–what if a terrorist makes calls with coins from a pay phone–no way to figure out who he called?) The pay phone I used is owned by Pacific Bell/SBC (now AT&T). It is a standard Elcotel Series-5 which has no recording capability. So if there is a record, it has to be in some part of the phone company’s data storage, right? The other end of the phone call was made to a phone at the City Manager’s office in the City of Berkeley, California. The phones in the CIty Manager’s office have Caller ID. Would there be a record of incoming calls? I have been falsely accused and this is my only proof (it has to exit somewhere!)

I'm looking for portfolio tracking software?

I have used microsoft money and found the layout insanely frustrating. I am looking to have the capability to determine beta, alpha, volatility of individual investments and the portfolio as a whole. I would also like to be able to compare my returns to previous years and choose the time frame.
Thanks.
I fired my broker, because thats what he made me. And their portfolio tracking software was terrible. He had a 8 year time frame, and I wasn’t swapping in and out of things either.

I am buying a new phone which will be used mainly for business. I was looking at the Samsung SCH-u740 since it has a keyboard. The i-phone is too pricey and I’m stuck already in a 2 year contract with another phone company. I definitely want a phone with a keyboard since I will need to send documents with changes made to them. What is a phone that would allow me to download Adobe Acrobat in it? And it absolutely has to have Windows capability for my documents. Also, I noticed some cell phones have "Mobile Web 2.0" and others have Windows Mobile 5.0 OS — what is the difference between these 2?

Government has been a crock from the beginning. With the technology available today we have the capability of taking our constitutional right to have one vote per person for every law, statute, ordinance, issue, and judgment. Instead of politicians and judges we the people of the United States can govern ourselves better than an elitist system of a few rich people. We can take our government out of the hands of big business and special interest groups and lobbyist who give bribes and that’s what they are is bribes. I may not get rich and I may not get famous, but I’m going to look into how to challenge the government to give us our constitutional right to have a government of and by the people. With the technologies of the internet and automated phone systems we can get everyone to vote on the issues. The news can be owned by the people and no longer be the ideological slant of one rich owner. A website can be built that presents all sides of an issue and gives a test on it before voting to qualify a person to be able to vote on an issue. This website can recommend books to read, but they won’t be mandatory. They can give a multiple choice test over the material to qualify a person to vote. This information can also be a part of the daily newspaper and the morning and evening newscast. The same qualifying test can be given through automated telephone service, and you can vote on the internet or the phone. We the people of the United States demand our constitutional right and the dismantling and reconstruction of our government to be a true democracy. Then the world can also follow if some of them don’t beat us to it. So I will be looking into where to start in the immediate future. My question is how do I get government of and by the people one person one vote per law, statute, ordinance, issue, and judgment; passed as a law for both the federal and state governments?
Also I would like to see this on the local government level as well.
Please respond with an answer to the question asked and not another question or some peripheral issue.

It is my opinion that people aren’t involved in government because it’s elitist and they know that nothing major is ever going to change. The only way to bring change is if we the people do it whether by force or by due process of the law. I’m willing to try to get our government to see the light. However I have reconsidered the test question option and would replace it with an affirmation that all sides of the issue have been understood.
I suspect that we are evolved beyond the Jim Crow days. Although we could use some more compassion and understanding of many various minority issues. I believe that if minorities made their case effectively that they would see change in their favor.
This is not a pipe dream. this is the first step in raising the consciousness of the american people to see just what type of government we really have and to take neccesary action. If there are any politicians that would comply then at least we’d know who the good guys are. If Obama really wants change he would take control of the government and make this change himself. I think the time is ripe for this issue to take presidence because of the type of president that we have. I believe he is radical enough to do this, and that he’d easily give up power to the people. If anyone else were president I wouldn’t bother to try.
Now that I have the answer to the question feel free to post any related comment or question. Although I would like further details on getting the constitution amended. What is the first step to getting that done?
I’m not concerned with political bias as it is neccessary to get the views from various partys. I’m willing to put my faith in the citizens of this country that given teh opportunity to make a difference that as we are today we would. It’s just a matter of taking the time to present your argument logically and address all concerns.

T-Mobile said it could only pair with bluetooth headsets and handsfree and said it did not have the capability to pair with other phones via bluetooth. Is there any secret codes or any way I can get it to pair with other phones?
BTW: I’ve already asked T-Mobile and they won’t tell me anything because they said it is illegal to "share" music and they would be breaking the law.

Do I need PBX, Centrex, a key system? Or something simpler– like just plugging the phones into the wall? There’s only two of us now, and the office can hold up to 5 people. I don’t think we’ll need more than 2-3 lines max. We want to be able to pick up lines from any phone, transfer calls, and get voicemail. My building has Verizon FIOS, and they say I can just get 2-3 lines with them (plus separate data) and phones that have the capability to handle multiple lines, transferring, etc. I’ll voice mail, call forwarding, etc. through Verizon– just plugging them straight into the phone jack. The building has some kind of telecom closet.

Does that work? I don’t have to buy some kind of 00 "box" of some sort? Simpler is better…
