Short of going to the verizon store itself. Is there a way in the cell phone system settings or something for me to tell what kind of verizon cell phone it is? I am new to cell phones and, very recently, got into a family plan. Dad ( the one who got and gave me the phone ) doesn’t know either and also doesn’t have much experience with cell phones.

Cell phone companies keep raising there rates. If you change cell phone plans they make you agree to another one year plan that locks you in.
Would a WiFi cell phone system work? Some cities like San Francisco and Mountian View, CA has WiFi all over the city.
We need an open source like cell phone network with low cost phones. And a cell phone system that an open source community could support.
The cell phone companies are alienating their customers with their greed and lousy service. IMHO.

I want to buy a phone in the USA that I can use the 3g function in the Philippines. To use your laptop on the Smart Cell Phone System you need a phone that has 3g technology, and the phone will then be used as a modem for the laptop.
My question is what should I look for in a phone to buy in the USA before I go so that it will working in the Philippines?

you may think this question is wired, but I’m not live in America. and i don’t wanna buy expensive cell phone for a short trip.
also, i’m gonna stay in America for a week. after that, can i use the phone again? i mean,, i go back to my home country and go to America again about a year later.

Suppose you were asked to design a cell-phone system that works by communicating with satellites instead of cell-phone towers. What would be the relative advantages and disadvantages of putting the satellites in low-earth orbit, medium-earth orbit, or geosyncronous orbit? Which do you think you would choose?

I’m in Canada right now and will be going to Bangkok soon. I have a Samsung cell phone and was wondering if I can bring it and use it in Thailand like I do here. I know that I have to get a new Thai SIM card. But do they have the same cell phone system (e.g. GSM, CDMA, etc.)? I think Canada uses the GSM system – what about Thailand?

This girl from my high school call the cops on a party and is denying it. We want to somehow look up her dialed calls and see if she called 911. Is there a way to do this? The party was on September 22 so are there even call records that go back that far. We not really looking of spending money on the call records…Is there a way to get dialed call records? maybe even hacking into the cell phone system?
