I would like to purchase the Wen cleansing conditioner, but I do not have a credit card. Can I call the 1-800 number and order with a personal check, through my checking account?

HELP in Wellsfargo Overdraft fee?

Hi,
Recently I was charged twice for an overdraft fee in Wellsfargo. I had linked my paypal account to my debit card. At the time I thought it was linked to my credit card so I charge more money then I had on my paypal account. I made a purchase on 12/20 at night for .38 and another on 12/21 at around 2 PM for ~7. At that time my checking account still had in it. The next day when I checked my bank account I noticed two overdraft fee. Wellsfargo had processed ~7 transaction first then the ~ transaction, even though I made the ~ purchase first. Which resulted in 2 overdraft of each instead of just one if it had processed my order chronologically. I did some research and found out that Wellsfargo had lost a law suit regarding overdraft fees this year. The judge had ruled the system they were using, processing transactions from the highest amount to the lowest amount instead of chronological order, as an “unfair and deceptive business practices”. The judge also ruled that they can no longer do such practice. I mentioned this law to the Wellsfargo representative I was talking to over the phone, however he said that the law suit only apply for "debit card or check" transactions; the paypal transactions are consider to a "pay bill" transaction so it still runs on the high to low system. This system is unfair and the overdraft system is praying on people who are financial vulnerable. I would like some guidance on this situation.
Thanks,

My friend has his checking account at Wachovia/Welles Fargo, one of the banks that took taxpayer bailout money. Should he call them and ask them what they’re doing about lending that money to mainstreet, and tell them if they’re not making loans to credit worthy people, he’ll move his money to banks that are lending?

Would that kind of citizen pressure en masse work?

Okay, okay I know this is going to sound like I’m high and living out of some badly scripted movie, but I’m the paranoid type.

My dad works as a Financial Systems Analyst (fancy for accountant) for the Department of Defense. Anyway, the past few months he’s been going on a lot more business trips than usual, like three times as many. He always gives me his hotel information in case of emergencies or if I need more money in my checking account or something. So one time I needed something, I called the hotel and requested him. They had no record of him staying at the hotel. Not only that, his four day trip turned into some mysterious eight day trip… and his phone wasn’t turned on (straight to voicemail). Super creepy? Well it happened a few more times before I called his work and they assured me he was there and that he was just super busy in meetings or something (Government people…). Well, so he supposedly had a trip to San Fransisco and I called his hotel and guess what? He wasn’t there! His cell phone was on, but he wasn’t answering. I must have spent four or five hours calling every hotel in the area. ALL said he wasn’t there.

He has also been working a lot more. Usually he’s home by 4 (unless he goes out with his friends or girlfriend), but he’s been working till like 6 or 7 and not coming home till like 8. His girlfriend of 4 years broke up with him for working too much!

On top of this, about a month ago this weird 866 number kept calling. A few times I answered and it was a woman (sounded black) in a very hushed voice, distressed voice. She would ask for my father. I would say the generic "He’s not her right now, can I take a message?" She would just hang up. I called back a few times expecting some company, but it was a personal number. It was to some guy named guy, and when it went to voicemail it said that it couldn’t take anymore messages as it was full. I told my dad and he said it was probably a solicitor or bill collector (except my dad isn’t in any kind of debt). They continued to call and I would hear breathing and then the call would end. Sometimes I would answer and it would immediately end. Now the phone isn’t even in service. I haven’t heard from "them" in a week, so I was curious and tried to call them back.

On top of all that I came home yesterday to find our house a complete wreck. It was ransacked. Nothing was stolen though! The intruder had taken stuff out of drawers and closets (my neatly organized closet TRASHED!) and thew it everywhere.

I think that my dad is like a secret spy or something?! This sounds crazy, I know. But its really weird. I think that he’s maybe an assassin or something top secret. I haven’t found a secret room in our house yet (like in the movies), but IDK.

My father also brought in a lot more money than his job pays him last year. I’m really nosy about his finances, which I know are none of my business. But his salary is public record.

For 2009, a person on the General Schedule, Rank 14 (GS13), Step 3 makes a Base of 89,009. Then you have to multiple that by the local increase. For Cleveland that’s 18.16%. This comes to a little over 105,000 (this is before the taxes and stuff).

I tried telling my dad about the weird house break in, but he’s on one of his "business trips" and I’ve left numerous voicemails. He’s supposed to be back Monday, but for all I know he could be dead.

I know this sounds extremely odd, but I’m so freaking worried I packed a suitcase and am staying at a friends. I’m scared, like for real.

Could me dad be an assassin?

In the movies don’t they take the kids for hostage or they get axe murdered?? I’m only 16! I just got my first car and I want to go to college. I’m too young to die. I’m really worried about my dad =/
Why would he need to sell drugs? He makes good enough money.

His ex girlfriend is a pretty good looking lady and they had been dating for 4 years?!?

Why would his "new girlfriend" have our house ransacked?

How do you know he’s not adept or not? I don’t know, but part of having a secret life is being able to hide it!
I’m going to get axe murdered =C

I want to open a company so I can do some money on the side, doing systems consulting work.

I do want to take the benefits of an S corp, with all the tax breaks, but I don’t want to be flooded with paperwork and spend endless amount of hours administrating my business.

All I need is a company, a checking account, a web presence, a cell phone and some business card. That’s all I need to run my business.

As far as the type of company goes, which one would be the best option for my scenario?

Are are the pros and cons between, S Corp, LLC and all other types of corporations out there?

basically i had opened a new checking account elsewhere and had notified the bank that i would be wiring money out of the account. at my new bank they said the wiring into the account would act as a "cash advance" and the money would be instantly available. now the old bank is trying to say my account is 00 overdrawn and they keep calling me. if that is really the case, why should i pay for their accounting mistake? can they make me pay it back i.e. seek legal help?

I paid my checking account on time when it was negative and even though I paid when it was closed the reported me to chexsystems. I need to get in contact with someone. I cant even get second chance checking anywhere.

My friend lost 0,000.00 (one half million) last week at T.D. Waterhouse on a margin call. Her broker has left the company. She said he took money out of her brokerage checking account and lost that even when she told him she had outstanding checks written on the account.

I got this call on my cell phone that from Distinct Advantage trying to send me some promotional stuff because of my checking account. I don’t have a checking account. I also don’t use my cell phone number for stuff on the internet unless it is for something that I expect to be called about like a scholarship. I looked them up on in internet and apparrently they have been noted for scams and harrassment. I have never had a checking account. It is also said that they charge you for calling your phone. What should I do about this?

Can a collection company call your neighbors?

I have an account that has gone into collections. I am wanting to pay but just do not have any money right now because of lost income. The company called my neighbor and asked them to give me a message to call. Also they want checking account information even though I have said I can not pay for several weeks. What should I do to get them to leave me alone until I can pay?

What Budget Software Should I use?

For years I’ve used Microsoft excel to track my expenses, I have my checking account balance at the top, and my budget categories (Mortgage, Car Insurance, Groceries, etc.) along the side, with all my transactions at the bottom. I’d like to be able to upgrade to a software that might be a little more automatic, but I don’t know which to choose.

I’ve tried mint.com, and I don’t like it at all, because I am unable to define the categories for my transactions. The most important feature to me is being able to define what I call ‘sub accounts’, and say which ‘sub account’ each transaction should withdrawl from. For example:

If I get a paycheck for 00, I want to distribute it like this

0 to mortgage
0 to groceries
0 to Insurance
0 to Utilities
to Fun

Then when I write a check to Geico for 0, I want it to come out of the "Insurance" sub account. This way I keep track of all my sub accounts together.

Having it go to my banks website and automatically download all my transactions would be a plus, but isn’t necessary. Thanks in advance for your help!

Sounds fishy to me as they say you use the bank instead of the bank using you. Like usually your money sits gaining little interest while the bank loans it to you at higher interest. Getting around that seems unlikely. Ever heard of this called a "mortgage checking account". Call Steve at 801-404-7000 to get more details. Sounds too good to be true.
Thanks for the forum!!!
