I know that you need to bug the hell out of the manager in order to get an interview, but when should I start? This is a privately owned ice cream shop in my town that I applied to, and I want to get the job.

I am 16 years old, and want this job. Should I give them a call tomorrow after school, in a few days, or go back and talk to him. I was thinking of calling tomorrow and asking the manager if he got a chance to review my application but what else should I say?




I own a cold-calling firm that I started over a year ago. I had a small business account with 8 lines that I decided to upgrade to a T1 with AT&T in October 2010. They installed the T1 in December of 2010 only to find out it wouldn’t work properly. They "gave" me a few lines on a new acct to use for free until they fixed the T1. It is March 8, 2011 and they still have not shown up to fix the T1. I needed to hire new employees to meet a quota for a client, and I didn’t have the phone lines to do it. I have been unable to expand my business and have personally spent well over 100 hours on the phone and typing emails to AT&T. I now have a total of 5 different accounts with them, when I only needed one, the part that was needed to fix the phone system was delivered in December and is still sitting in the FedEx box it arrived in.

I sent them a email on 2/22/11 stating that I needed more phone lines immediately. No matter what the cost, I had to hire two new employees. They still have not called or shown up. As much as I hate Comcast, I had to open a small business account with them. They said they could have me up and running within a few days! What in the h*ll is AT&T’s problem then? I seriously hope that I can sue. Please help. I have probably lost close to 150-300k in future earnings.
The terms of the contract state, "Effective Date of Contract: on the date when the service is installed and AVAILABLE for use by Customer." I am clearly not under contract with them.




I have had 2 interviews (Blockbuster and Gamestop) both told me they would call me back after running a background check but neither one has called and it is a few days past when they told me they would call.




Last Friday (1-14) I purchased a North Face Apex Bionic from the website northface-outlets.com for .99. It had me go through a weird checkout process but I was being stupid and didn’t really make anything of it. I got an email the next day from Billing Support System saying thank you for your purchase blah blah blah. It also said the purchase shown on my account statement would be EFASHIONTRADE.EU.

Still wasn’t thinking and let a few days go by and wait for a shipping confirmation email…still haven’t got on. On the previous email there was an email address and they said if you have any problems/refunds/returns, contact us here. I did that and got an error message saying it was an invalid email address.

Now I started to get suspicious. I went back the the original site I purchased it from and went to the contact us page. I was a dead link and I’m guessing it was no accident.

I tried calling this Billing Support System place through a phone number they left in there email. I never got through to them, all i got was hold music.

I got another email from them, this one was pretty weird with terrible spelling. Here it is:

Can anyone please help with family problems?




Here the problem. My brother stole money from my dad for drugs. He stole money from our family business and personal money. He even steals our games system and phones to sell and buy drugs. Just lately he stole our rent money. We are struggling to pay off bills. He smokes so much that a few days ago he couldn’t breath and pass out. The drugs gets bigger and bigger each days. We put him in rehab but that didn’t work. We brag him into buying him anything he wants just to stop. That fail as well as talking to him. Any advice? Please and thanks.

How do I get money from my boss?




I worked for a company as a secretary for awhile. The company split because of money issues and the side I got put on didn’t have a paycheck system started since it was under a new name the day after. It took my boss about a month to setup a paycheck system and have enough money to put in the bank account. So he didn’t pay me for the first two weeks, which was going to be under the table. Finally he started paying me but not in full, so every week he would pay me some, but still owe me more. Eventually we started getting paychecks, but the business is starting to go down hill so… he closed the office and was having me work from his house so he didn’t have to pay rent at the old office. Since the phones had to get switched over from the office to his house, it took a few days and he told me to take the rest of the week off because I couldn’t do anything without the phones. He said he would call me when they were working. Its been two weeks now and he hasn’t called me. I’m ok with not working there anymore, but I’ve been trying to get ahold of him to pay me the moeny he owes me. He owes me 7 total. He owed me 5 from the money that he owed me under the table. Then he owed me that was supposed to be on the books, but he never called in my hours i’m sure because that was part of my job, except i haven’t worked. And on top of that, I had cashed a check at my bank and it was 7 and it bounced and came out of my savings account, plus a fee. I have tried multiple times to meet up with him and he keeps blowing me off or not showing up. He won’t answer his phone. Or call back. How do I get my money?! I know I can call the labor board, and there are other employees, old and new, that have had the same problem with him. I just am not sure if it is worth calling because most of the money he owes me was from under the table, but I don’t think its fair because I wasn’t the one to make the choice not to setup a paychecks account. And the money that was bounced from my account for his bad check… can I still get money for that? The only thing I’m sure of is the , but nothing even proves that I worked then since my hours were never called in. I am so frustrated. I am broke. And I really wanna see this guy go down! Help! Basically what I want to know is if I call the NYS board of labor, can I get money, even though I was supposed to be owed money that was under the table, bounced from my account because of his bad check, and money that I was on the books for but he never called my hours in…

A Question About DirecTV Service?




This all started several months ago when DirecTV called my grandparents saying that they needed to upgrade their old channel package, because theirs was no longer available and they risked their service being canceled because of it. They have had this same exact package since 1997 when they first got DirecTV. They have never missed a payment on a bill, canceled, or suspended their DirecTV service since then and they still have the same package today.
My grandmother called and asked them about it a couple weeks later, but the customer service representative she talked to had no idea what she was talking about, and said not to worry about it. The very next day a DirecTV van came to their house, but none of the employees had any idea about why they were there. My grandmother explained it to them. One of the employees told my grandfather to buy an 8" x 8" board and cement it into the ground behind the house a few feet away from their old satellite dish. He bought the board and did so.
A few days later they returned, but the new employee said the Slimline dish they were going to install needed to be mounted on a metal pole instead of the board. He also said it would be condemned if they ever performed an inspection. They installed the satellite dish on the board anyways and upgraded their old satellite receiver box with an HD box. They do not pay for HD service now nor have they ever and said so to the employee. They have a 20 year old television set that cannot show anything in HD. He said the HD box would pick up SD channels as well and that it would only get HD channels if they called them back out again to activate the HD software in the box.
That was the last time they ever showed up. Now my grandparents cannot view any channels that are in HD, even with the formatting and resolutions changed to SD settings. They are paying to watch channels like the Discovery Channel (278) and the Hallmark Channel (312), which are included in their package, but the channels show up as black screens and say that they haven’t been payed for. This only happens with HD channels, but SD channels show up fine.
My grandmother called them back, but they said that the person whose name on the bill (my grandfather’s) is the only person who can ask for a changed or upgraded service, even though SHE was the one who originally called them. I personally called them later, but they said the same thing. They also said that they couldn’t change the box back unless it had been broken and was not functioning properly.
They were going to cancel service entirely and switch to Dish Network, but the lease my grandmother signed for the equipment stated that if they do not stay with DirecTV for at least two years they would be charged a 0 fine for each the box and the satellite dish. We called them again and asked how we could get SD service with the box. The employee stated that we needed to buy another old television and order another separate DirecTV service with a second dish, box, and bill in my grandmother’s name.
What I’m asking is does anyone know of a way for them to get Standard Definition service back? Or is there any way for them to "get around the lease" and not have to pay a huge fine for canceling DirecTV service? They are on a very limited budget and live so far away from the city that cable TV isn’t an option. They still have their old receiver box and satellite dish, both of which they own. When the new Slimline satellite was installed the employee installing it cut the cable to the old satellite so it couldn’t be reconnected.




When I log into my yahoo small business e-mail it displays an inbox for one e-mail. When I go to the top of the page I click the e-mail to bring a drop down menu to select another e-mail to check that inbox. The second e-mail is the one I want to show first. Besides that, when I log onto Yahoo mail, using Yahoo’s app for android, I can only view the first e-mail. The second e-mail is my primary e-mail is use. When I made the second e-mail the primary e-mail for the account, it gives me the option the check mark a box that says "I would like my profile to be found by others searching on my email address to make me a connection. Your email address will become an Identity for your Yahoo! account if you check the box. Your Identities are all shared with your Connections and you may make them public" I am assuming I need to make this e-mail my identity to get what I want done accomplished, but when I check mark the box and continue (if I don’t mark the box it works) I get this "The system is experiencing some problems, please try again in a few minutes. (Error: #77202)" I have been trying to do this for a few days now. The main problem is that I can’t access that second e-mail from my phone. I could forward all messages to the first e-mail but that e-mail name is not useful for business use so I wouldn’t be able to reply using the first e-mail. Any help will be appreciated. Ok so I have a Question for PEOPLE WHO KNOW. If you work for bank of America that would be best..

Anyways.. So I have had bank of America for 2 years before. About a year about I deposited my 800 payroll check and they held it for 1 1/2!!!!!! When I called to bitch everyone INCLUDING SUPERVISORS told me there is NOTHING they can do about it and the system WONT let them post it any earlier.

Today a year later.. I have a really good account in good standing and always keep up. I never have had more then 800-900 dollars in my account, which only lasted a few days due to bills. Anyways. My grandma gave me a ,100 Personal Check from Regions bank so I can pay all my bills since Im behind due to the economy and I have to feed and clothe my children like everyone else. Well. I asked the bank lady what to do. She said to deposit it into the ATM that it is faster since it scans the check and immediately gives you a post date. Well them ATM gave me an Immediate 0 and told me the rest would be avail on 11/8. Which is 1 Business day!! NOT BAD!! But he res the catch. I told the manager AT THE BANK, not over phone the date it gave me.. and she tells me.. OH WELL I CAN PUT A NOTE IN MY CALENDER AND I CAN TRY TO GO AHEAD AND GET IT PROCESSED AND AVAILABLE TOMORROW!!

Tell me, How can the people over the phone be rude and tell you THEY CANT DO IT. But yet When I got to deposit a 00 check all of the sudden the bank manager can process the check faster and take the hold off. So are they just wanting me to have a large available amount so they get more money? Or what. I don’t get it!! Help me understand why they do this.

How soon do fast food employers call back?




Im a teenager with a small resume.
I applied to multiple fast food/ teenager appropriate jobs.
How soon do you think they will call back?
Also, I was told to call a few days later and ask if they have had a chance to see me application yet. Is that a good idea, or is that a little pushy?




I just had an interview with GapBody yesterday as a sales associate/cashier. When I asked the woman who interviewed me how long it may take to receive a phone call, she replied that "hopefully I’ll be able to do the background checks tomorrow", "tomorrow" being today. Does it usually take retail stores like Gap a few days to call back? How long should I wait before realizing that I didn’t get the job?




I just had two interviews at Sam’s Club in the same day. During my last interview, the guy told me he WILL contact me in the next few days for a job offer. It’s been about a week now, should I call them back or should I wait a little longer?




We have this whole home phone system and I got one in my room. One night, I must’ve left it in my bed. I have a trash can next to my bed and I must’ve kicked the phone in the trashcan during sleep. And a few days later we took out the trash and the phone was in there. It’s been months and I can’t work up the courage to tell them!
