I purchased a lenovo laptop a couple moths back, i tried putting linux on it didnt work, then i put a bootleg copy of windows 7 back on(originally came with laptop). now the wifi, fingerscanner, camera dosent work.
long story short, i need a recovery disk from lenovo, i called , and they want 60$,
but i have heard of some people being able to get it for free on my same model (b575 ideapad).
what should i say to customer service software department to get it for free?????
also, it came with a preloaded recovery, but got removed by accident, i didnt back it up.
and the lenovo site suck, all the drivers they offer for free are corrupt.
please help, what to say to customer service????

It is gross they use children in the material. Makes me want to pick a different line of IT: like Microsoft or Linux. Children are gross and so is Cisco.

How different is a Linux network compared to a Unix network? I understand a Unix network has mainframes, etc.
What are the things a Unix network has but a Linux network does not have and can never have?

I know cisco has a version 7 and a version 5; but Linux has md 5, is that the same thing as Cisco’s version 5?
Thanks for the insight.

I recently purchased the XBox360 version of GH-WT and, naturally, it came with a USB microhpone. As I’ve also been thinking about getting a microphone for my PC I’ve been wondering whether it could serve this purpose, particularly under Linux.
If so, the mic’s performance stats would also be appreciated!

I use Linux, and when I have to I use Windows 98 SE. The phone doesn’t seem compatible with either of these 2 Operating Systems… is that true? If so, is there any other way to get songs onto the M2 memory card? (I mean what are Mac users supposed to do, too?) I do not have a newer version of Windows, and it’s not an option so please don’t say it. Thanks in advance.

Please let me know how to create a site to site tunnel between CISCO ASA 5520 and LINUX DEBIAN
using a pre shared key.
Cisco ASA is already configured and sent me these details.
Phase1 Key Exchange: 3DES, Data integrity: SHA, DH Group2
Phase2 Encryption: 3DES, Data integrity: SHA, DH Group 2
Perfect Forward Secrecy.

What specific certifications are the best for IT help desk support? Currently I am working on my Linux Red Hat Certifcation. I am also thinking about doing the CCNA. Is the MCSE the best? What is the best combination to have to get into help desk support?

I’ve been looking everywhere for one and they offer free calls unless you want to call an actual phone. Magic Jack only works in windows. If it needs to be downloaded then is it linux compatable since I’m running Ubuntu?

Looking for some general information on setting up a home telephone networking system that is able to support the common features such as call transfers, but most importantly use an existing land line for external calls. Some questions I have are:
1) Is a server required, and what software and management utilities does it need to run. (Os: Windows, Linux, Mac)
2) If a server is not required, can I alternatively use one desktop PC with network access (Wireless / LAN) with the phone connected locally to each machine.
3) What hardware, apart from a networking capable phone, is required? Will default networking cards be sufficient? Is there other hardware required?
Thanks,
Ryan
