I just had an interview with GapBody yesterday as a sales associate/cashier. When I asked the woman who interviewed me how long it may take to receive a phone call, she replied that "hopefully I’ll be able to do the background checks tomorrow", "tomorrow" being today. Does it usually take retail stores like Gap a few days to call back? How long should I wait before realizing that I didn’t get the job?

Why when you call a health insurance company does it say this call "may be" or "is be" recorded. And also when someone from a health insurance company says at the beginning of the conversation "this phone call is being recorded"? Whats the purposes?

I took my computer to a shop to have it worked on and they had it for approx 20 days without a single phone call from the shop. Each time I would call they would say they were still trying to diagnose the problem. Finally, the beginning of June they called and said that they had wiped the hard drive clean and reinstalled my complete operating system. According to them the hard drive was wiped clean and the operating system reinstalled between approximately June 1-3rd. . However, when I got my computer back and I went into the "installed on" area under the Control Panel, it shows that things like My HP Games, Realplayer and Rhapsody which all installed on May 20th just 2 days after I had dropped off my machine at this business. My question is: If I dropped the computer off on May 18th and they then were installing these "fun" game/music programs just two days later (on a computer that was still supposedly not operating properly) and then almost 20 days after that finally concluded that they needed to wipe the entire hard drive clean and reinstall the operating system, wouldn’t those programs have been on the hard drive and thus wiped off when they wiped the hard drive clean? And wouldn’t those programs then have had to be reinstalled again which would have resulted in an "installed on" date between June 1-3rd?

So pretty much, my girl friends father is having baby momma drama with his girl friend. She threatened the babies life on the phone and he has no way to prove it unless he can get a recording of that phone call. Is it possible to get a copy of that phone call from the phone company?
Please and thank you!

I work for a manufacturer as sort of a building improvement coordinator, which means I’m responsible for coordinating the efforts of contractors and city financing assistance to improve various aspects of the facility. We’re talking things like HVAC systems, flooring repairs, exterior/interior wall repairs, etc. I bring in the contractors, get the quotes, and apply for city and state-run programs that provide financial assistance (in the form of loans and reimbursements) for these improvements. I’m not the engineer or the warehouse or production manager, but I am really the only one around here who gets how to work with the government to partially subsidize these projects.
So I’m not too familiar with working with contractors. As part of the application process for some of these grants, I had to bring in three different contractors to provide estimates for the work to be done, and because of some deadlines and I needed them in a hurry. I’ve decided who I want to work with, and barring any disagreements between me and my boss, I want to call him and start coordinating on the work.
What do I tell the other contractors? I mostly feel awkward about it because they all kind of rushed out to do the estimates at my behest. They are aware that we were looking towards other contractors, both so that we could secure competitive bids and because the programs I mentioned require multiple bids for the same projects; but is it ok to leave the unselected contractors hanging? Part of me says yes, they’re used to that and it’s just part of running a general contracting business. But I feel like I owe them at least a phone call because we were on a deadline and they went out of their way. Or maybe they didn’t go out of their way and they’re used to that too. I have no idea!
Any advice would be great.

If it is illegal to record a phone call, how were the Mel Gibson recorded phone calls released without someone getting into trouble with the law?

I was wondering whether I can connect to VoIP phones and make more than 1 call over Voip
I mean like putting in two phones into the router and the ability to make two phone calls at the same time. Will the line be restricted to one phone call at a time?

I just got a phone call at work that sounded like it was from overseas. The caller was "confirming" our company’s "free yellow pages business listing." He already knew our company name and contact info and I said "correct" as he read it back.
Then the call got weird. He got me to spell out my name and then asked for my job title. When I answered, he said that title wasn’t in their system and I should just say I was a "supervisor" when he transfered me to someone who was going to confirm our listing.
A second guy came on and said his call was being timed, so to please not interrupt him because he had to complete it in so many seconds. Then he said to interrupt him if the info was wrong. He repeated this mumbo-jumbo several times.
When this caller asked me my job title, I gave my original answer. He said, "A supervisor?" When I answered, "Not really," he hung up.
Has this happened to anyone else? I’m afraid I said "yes" at one point and they’ll be able to scam me.
They already knew our company information, so the only thing I really gave them was my own name.
I’m not sure what it means that they hung up on me.

Not necessarily recording the phone call, but a replacement for writing down the message on a post it
