Supposedly, going up to politicians in person and calling them on the phone are the most effective ways to get them to advocate for your causes. But how many phone calls do they get?
Does my phone call really make a difference in the sea of phone calls. Most importantly, how big is that sea? Please provide a source for your answer.

I have a basic plan with t-mobile. I only make phone calls and text messages. I am thinking of getting a smart phone now and would like to do a little more with it in the future but for now I want to keep my basic phone plan until I am ready. Will a smart phone work with my basic plan. The phone I am looking at is a T-Mobile comet.

I own a fast food restaurant and my 60+ employees all feel the need to use my business phone to place personal phone calls. Is there a device that will require a passcode or PIN number to dial out but allow business-related calls in without an issue?

I recently checked my free credit report on Equifax and Experian. It stated that I had bills from when I did rehab on my knee. I had not been contacted in any way, no mail, phone calls, or email by the debtors stating that I owe money. So I contacted the place Maxsports, where I did the physical rehab at, and they said my account was no longer in their system as they had a new system, and gave me a number to what I believe is a collections agency to collect on my debt. I called them and asked for what money I owed. They told me 5 and asked if I wanted to set up a payment plan. I declined to do it. I also gave them my social security number for them to look up my account info in which they pulled up the balance I owed. Should I wait and see if they start contacting me? And did I do something stupid by providing them with my social security number??? I mean I called the business where I did my rehab at and they gave me that number. The debt collector is PCB in Columbus, Ohio and they have not attempted to contact me nor my mother in any way about my bill owed. What should I do? Wait and see if they are going to start contacting me or just call them back and set up a payment plan? I don’t want to call them back as I feel they may pull up my file and start harassing me… Since it’s been 3 years and I have never got any contact via phone, mail, or nothing, what should I do in your opinions??? I am also sure they have me and my moms correct mailing info and numbers on file as we have been at the same residence and had the same phone numbers well before I even went to the rehab for my knee. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!!

I want to try and call my friends that don’t have skype. I am living in Argentina and need to make phone calls to my friends in the U.S.
I have bought so many phone cards and they only give me 15 minutes or so. I heard once before of a company that gives you a phone number for your computer that people can call you for free. Anyone know of this? I hope someone knows of something to help me.

I am interested in a virtual assistant to help me keep up with appointments, mail holiday cards, make phone calls if needed, send e-mail reminders, light word processing, possibly a little editing.
How are the rates determined? Are they paid hourly, or per task?

I have Verizon and am confused on how blackberry’s work versus regular cell phones. If you turn off internet access on a blackberry, you cannot make phone calls or text messages. Why is this? Does their internet function on a different frequency? Can anyone explain how a blackberry works?

Hello,
I Currently use RocketVoip for my VOIP, with the plan I get 4 numbers for 29.95 including a 800#. All the numbers are tied to the main # so if you dial the 800 # it goes to the main #, however if someone else dials the local # it goes directly to the voice mail.
How can I set up my system to allow two calls at once?
I have a home office where phone calls are our life, and to be able to make 2 calls at the same time would be great.
Please help.
Thank you Thank you Thank you

I know that System and Network Administrators get paid more and have a more respectable role, but is it really that much better? People complain that Help Desk take phone calls, but many of the calls are escalated and the problems are just as hard to deal with. They are on the phones a lot, dealing with vendors, talking to others in the companies, with other companies, and they are on call almost all of the time. They’re constantly learning, upgrading, and pretty much have no lives. They have more responsibilities.
I work in the Help Desk. Not many calls, but loads of tickes, emails, and in person. I use to want to be a Network/System Administrator, but after seeing everything, I don’t want to anymore. The only thing that I think is really better is the pay and title.
Am I wrong in thinking this? Is there a disconnect in what I think or is it normal for somebody in the help desk to hate help desk, and love system/network admin when they get there?

There seem to be so many "free" softwares that can be downloaded from the internet to make phone calls. E.g., Skype

I plan on starting up 3 different businesses and want to use one phone to answer all the phone calls. What do you think is the best way to do this without using any of the actual businesses names? If somebody is calling one business I wouldn’t want to answer as if they were calling another.

The Droid Eris was removed from the line of HTC phones because its whole system is messed up. The touch screen always hesitates and you can never hang up on phone calls, etc. Since my contract isn’t up, my dad has to use one of the other free upgrades on the plan and these two phones are my options. I can’t decide! I really want a blackberry but the curve they have at verizon feels somewhat cheap/hollow. And the LG Ally looks really cool, but it also runs on android and I’m afraid it might mess up like my android did before! So far my friends said the Blackberry is best, but I’m not sure since I’m in high school it might be a bad idea to have a "business" phone thats made for emailing.
If you know anything about the two, help me decide

My friend and I are starting a small business.
I am going to be handling all the phone calls and such each day and the phone I will be using is currently my personal cellphone.
Is it possible for me to write off my bill each month and count it as a tax deduction or is this even a viable option?
I would appreciate any help on this because this is an entirely new venture for me.
Thank you all.
He is engaged and plans on getting married next year, so we have limited financial support. We are just trying to find every available option we have to reduce our expenditures and not get into trouble with the IRS; our knowledge in that area is SEVERELY lacking.

I realise this is down to personal preference – But which phone would you recommend for business calling? By this I mean I need bluetooth but no other gadgets – I need a phone that has really good sound quality (preferably so my customers think I’m in my office rather than in my house) and that has good battery life.
I have used gadget phones and pda phones in the past and although they are useful, they are pretty terrible at phone calls! Does anybody make a good quality phone anymore which just does calling well?
Any advice gratefully received.
