I’m always thinking big and I want to be careful with profit and revenue. As being a Computer Scientist/Software Engineer, I’m planning to sell a business software that I’ve develop with a team in a University. To start growing my small business, I want to sell the product on the shelves of Walmart.
Will it be risky to do that or not? Should I start selling these software on some websites?

I have a small business that I would like to run VOIP system in but: a) I don’t want to pay thousands of dollars for such system and b) I’m renting an old office space that does not have LAN capabilities and I’m having a hard time negotiating a deal with the property manager.

I’ve been looking at some Wireless IP phones but I don’t think it is as simple as turn on a wireless IP phone, connect it to your wireless router, and you are all set. Can someone give me an idea on what other equipments are needed?

I am looking for a good analog phone for a small business and I do not want to buy any kind of main phone network system or adapter to add hold music to a phone. Does anyone know of a good phone that already has this feature so when you press the hold button (not hold and then asterisk asterisk) and the other end hears music?

If this is has not been invented in a simple analog phone, someone should make millions of dollars….

I have a small business cannot afford expensive software like Sales Force or similar to keep track of my sales contacts. I would like peoples opinions on what is the best way to keep track and organize what customers I call on a daily basis. Outlook is helpful for organizing the names and numbers but doesn’t offer a way to track my contacts with customers.

I manage the IT issues at my small business. It is becoming harder and harder to track the issues. Is there a free web-based software that does the following:
- allows you to log issues with severity and priority, and include attachments and assign to users
- allows you to update statuses with notes and changes
- archives completed issues

These could be any issues, from "Employee X’s mouse is not working" to "the server backup is not working".

My sister runs a small company which she recently defaulted on a contract with a telephone co. She had a 3 or 4 year contract and when there is about one year remaining on her existing contract, she cancelled her service and went with another telephone co. provider for a much less monthly bill. She did not sign personal, and signed as a corporate officer with the co. of which she had defulted on. Her small business is still operating, and the previous co. obiously is trying to collect on her. Qestion (1) Is she personally liable in any way, when shed signed as an corporate officer? She said she is a Sub-s corp. Q(2): The collection co. left her a message stating that they are going to prusuit due to she is violating federal law, due to public utility issue. Her co. is debt free, and will never obtain any outside credit, my thinking is should she even bother with finding a lawyer since she signed corporately, and it’s a small co. with no assets? What other advise can anyone offer?

I have bought a small piece of property in the Philippines where I store my servers my cousin and his friends fix the machine while I’m in the United States, this business was our dream before I split up leaving my home country to have a better life here in the United States when I was just seven years old. The property was a very cheap house that we build together for only to store our servers and the electricity was no problem because were using the old fashion ways to get power the sun, water,fuel, and air I have everything installed ready for this business to happen.

Next year when I come back I’m going to build a water cooling system just for the servers, its not installed yet only the powers that we need to operate the machine and yes I already have the computers, but they’re not installed yet untill I give my cousin further notice on how we’re going to setup this business.

I need file data backup and recovery feature, I could find some few software which either has got a file recovery feature or data backup but not both. I’m traveling to Costa Rica for 2 weeks in mid-March. I have a small business and recently purchased a new technologically magnificent Google 2 android 4-G phone with a 2-year T-Mobile service contract so I could do anything from anywhere, but I’ve now found that it will probably NOT work in Costa Rica due to their communications system. If it does, the cost will be exorbitant in data usage fees and roaming charges. (It will be .29 a minute for calls to and from the United States, and worse, I’ll be charged that amount minimum for every incoming call to my voice mail even if the person hangs up as soon as my answering message starts. Having a business, I get a lot of calls, and I check my email frequently. Data usage would be per MB which could put me, unbelievably, at well over 00 dollars for an average month of 150 MB!) I’ve heard that a visitor can rent a phone there, but how does that work? I may have to give up Internet access, but since I’ll be touring a foreign country, I want a phone for contact with my family and business at home and emergencies on the road. Suggestions, please? I own a cold-calling firm that I started over a year ago. I had a small business account with 8 lines that I decided to upgrade to a T1 with AT&T in October 2010. They installed the T1 in December of 2010 only to find out it wouldn’t work properly. They "gave" me a few lines on a new acct to use for free until they fixed the T1. It is March 8, 2011 and they still have not shown up to fix the T1. I needed to hire new employees to meet a quota for a client, and I didn’t have the phone lines to do it. I have been unable to expand my business and have personally spent well over 100 hours on the phone and typing emails to AT&T. I now have a total of 5 different accounts with them, when I only needed one, the part that was needed to fix the phone system was delivered in December and is still sitting in the FedEx box it arrived in.

I sent them a email on 2/22/11 stating that I needed more phone lines immediately. No matter what the cost, I had to hire two new employees. They still have not called or shown up. As much as I hate Comcast, I had to open a small business account with them. They said they could have me up and running within a few days! What in the h*ll is AT&T’s problem then? I seriously hope that I can sue. Please help. I have probably lost close to 150-300k in future earnings.
The terms of the contract state, "Effective Date of Contract: on the date when the service is installed and AVAILABLE for use by Customer." I am clearly not under contract with them.
