Portfolio tracking software?

I am looking for a software program to track stocks and mutual funds? Any suggestions?

Good investment tracking software?

I own a number of stocks, mutual funds, and ETFs through Schwab, which I follow on Schwab’s website. But I’d like to get a more sophisticated tool, something that allows me to download price and volume data onto my own computer, so I can generate lots of charts and do a bit of technical analysis. I’m definitely not a day trader, but I’d like to do more of the "buy and hold for a few weeks then sell" style of trading. Plus, it would be useful to keep tabs on my various buys and sells, so I can easily compute how much profit or loss I’ve made on a given position. I’ve done things like buy 1000 shares of XYZ, then later sell 300 shares of XYZ, then later buy 200 shares of XYZ. Can anyone recommend a good software tool for this? I don’t mind paying for it, if it fits my needs.

What if you want to purchase a call option and then buy the stocks in the contract, but you don’t have enough money to on the day that you want to do it.

Do you just lose out? I don’t have an account with margin on it so maybe I should just keep the money waiting in there just encase. But that means I can’t use it to buy other stocks in the meantime.

I’m looking for the best software that will allow me to manage and track my investments, most of which are mutual funds and individual stocks. I have used Quicken and Money but they’re too complex. I just need a simple program that will allow me to conduct simple analysis such as asset allocation models. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Buying a call option account requirements?

Do brokerage firms require you to maintain a particular amount of assets (cash+stocks) in your account for buying call options?
Meaning if a stock is priced at 0 and you are planning on buying 10 call contract priced at .00, totaling to ,000, and you only have ,500 in your account; does your brokerage firm require you to deposit more money into the account as collateral or not?!
