Or can we just have a normal internet broadband as we don’t need a huge amount of bandwidth. We are also going to need a telephone line. Who do you reckon are the best and cheapest company to go for?

Thanks.

Why can't i get high speed via Iowa Telecom?

I’m trying to get high speed with Iowa Telecom but it says We’re sorry. Although service is available in your area, our records indicate that your telephone line does not qualify for DSL service. We are working to develop solutions to these limitations and will contact you should we be able to provide you with service in the future. Thank you for your inquiry. We just recently got a letter in the mail that says that where ever you live you can get it? So what is the deal here?

I’ve requested a business call allowance or a telephone line many times to the Administration Department but to no avail. I am in the marketing field so imagine the business calls i have incoming and outgoing. I end up using my personal phone for business calls and it is costing me so much. I’ve explained to the Administration Department and the GM the need of company phone for business calls but they are sleeping on it…what should I do? I cannot tell the media and other business people not to call me in my mobile….

My parents live with me and my family, and they have trouble understanding English when it comes to answering the phone. I suggested to them not to answer the phone, but they didn’t like that idea. I talked to my husband about this. He didn’t know the answer to this either. Our current telephone subscription is VOIP, and I want a second VOIP telephone line. Is this possible?

Telephone Announcement Recording?

I have a small retail business, however, our telephone line blows up with calls about store hours, directions, address, etc. I am searching for an announcement recording system, but I have no idea what it’s called, so it’s difficult to know where to look. What I have in mind: "Thank you for calling… We are located at BLAH BLAH. Our store hours are BLAH BLAH. If you would like to speak to a representative, please stay on the line (or please press 0)" Only after they stay on the line or press Zero will the call be connected and our phone will ring. Might anyone know what that service/system is called?

What is the best way to record phone calls on a regular telephone line(not a VOIP line) to get the best recording quality? I have an answering machine that records incoming calls but I cant turn it off and on, on demand. Do any of the new answering machines have "on-demand recording" and do they have a USB port to transfer all recordings to a computer? Or would best way to do it be just to use a voice recorder with a USB port?

I referred to the phone cards that are purshased to make international calls as well as for the telephone line.

I run a Small Business From Home , I repair PCs on the side , design simple webpages and sell a little on ebay. Its nothing officiall , I ordered a small business telephone line cause small business gives me the fastest DSL for my area. Is this illegal to do since I am not a officiall business?

We recently had digital phone hooked up. We had cable for the computer and tv for years. I heard great things about digital phone, which, eh, it’s ok. Clarity is not so great, even with a 5.8MH phone which is brand new.
That’s not my problem though.
We have a security system for our home, and that was installed 12yrs ago and is hooked up to the telephone line.
Apparently when cable goes out for just a second, our alarm sounds. It happened last night at 2am.
One box (alarm system) is located in my son’s closet which is locked and I do not have a key. I would assume that is where the hook up is for the telephone cable.
Second box is in my other son’s room, which is the electrical supply.
The company that installed the system is no longer in business.
My question is:
How do I get into the metal 20" X 15" box to disconnect the telephone line and which line is it , and how to do this without interupting the normal functions of alarm. It is not monitored.

I have a small business and want clients to be able to call in on one number and then be transferred to the desk of the person they want, but on the same line. Can I buy a phone system that allows this on one telephone line? ie – can each member of staff have voice mail but on one phone line? Hope this makes sense! I would not need more that 3 voicemail answer machines.
