I would like to know if it is possible to use the voice modem on my computer as voip gateway between the pstn. i have seen several reference in the net that allow you to implement an answering machine with stuff like vgetty. shoulding such integration be possible in the light of this.

This question is with reference to the phone calls recording to pc as all the software to record phone calls to pc ask for the requirement of voice modem.

I would like to make calls using the computer’s microphone and speakers without any VoIP software.
i already have a cable connecting my PC voice-modem to the land-line
