We have a Sales rep who’s home phone number is listed against a business in the 411 system. We are trying to have this number changed to the legitimate number versus her home. Have called numerous carriers in regard to changing the number but all I get is ‘ that’s the strangest thing I’ve heard of’ or ‘I have no idea how to change a listing for 411 or the Yellow Pages’.

Want to discontinue att but want to keep my business info in yellow pages. What can be done thank u

I have a constant need to talk on the phone, since childhood. I cannot ever unplug it or ignore it when ringing and most of the time I have to be the one to answer it or I become agitated and anxious. I spend roughly 4 hours a day on the telephone calling everyone I know, and when I have no one to talk to I will even call up people from the past that I have had lost touch with just to hang up when they answer, and at other times I will randomly call numbers from the yellow pages (businesses) to ask for useless information, for example asking their operating hours or location, just to have someone to call. If during an argument someone hangs up on me, I have been known to call constantly harassing them till they pick up again. I am far too embarassed to ever ask someone about it in person. I’m curious if this could be a byproduct of bi-coastal parenting where the relationships were prodominantly kept going via telephone.

I would like to suggest a great site for an online Telephone Directory. Whether you’re looking for a local business in your area that serves the best Italian food or just looking for the nearest gas station to your work, you can find it here at: http://www.dexknows.com/ It’s simply the best Yellow Pages online!

Can I get a residential phone line for business?

I am starting a new business. The business will be ran out of a "former" home so the install tech wouldn’t know the difference. So can I use a residential line but register my number for the yellow pages? I want my number to show up under the business name if it is searched via the internet or local phone book. Any ideas. They want too much money for a business land line. Any other ideas? Voip or another alternative? Can’t seem to find local numbers under any of the Voip providers.

How can someone update a number in the 411 system?

Hello! I am trying to get phone numbers for our business but I don’t quite want to have my business phone number listed quite yet. I expect after a year of business I would like to transition over to having a location and business number but… 1) Can I port my number over if my new location is in a commercial location 2) Can I list my residential or cell phone number in the Yellow Pages or Dex business section?

Was I just scammed?

I just got a phone call at work that sounded like it was from overseas. The caller was "confirming" our company’s "free yellow pages business listing." He already knew our company name and contact info and I said "correct" as he read it back.

Then the call got weird. He got me to spell out my name and then asked for my job title. When I answered, he said that title wasn’t in their system and I should just say I was a "supervisor" when he transfered me to someone who was going to confirm our listing.

A second guy came on and said his call was being timed, so to please not interrupt him because he had to complete it in so many seconds. Then he said to interrupt him if the info was wrong. He repeated this mumbo-jumbo several times.

When this caller asked me my job title, I gave my original answer. He said, "A supervisor?" When I answered, "Not really," he hung up.

Has this happened to anyone else? I’m afraid I said "yes" at one point and they’ll be able to scam me.
They already knew our company information, so the only thing I really gave them was my own name.

I’m not sure what it means that they hung up on me.

I wanna start my own "errand girl" business starting with my car, how do I list my phone number in the yellow pages or greensheet or something so people can start calling me and paying me today…don’t have money for my rent next week…soooooooooo desperate right now…..also I wanna car wash today but it’s just me….I’m a loner

Annoying Marketing Calls?

I keep recieving these annoying phone calls from a company calling themselves ‘infocity’ asking to update our online yellow pages listing. No number or name shows on the caller id. I would block these calls, but as a business I may lose customers. Does anyone have the same problem? What can I do? I have asked them to remove our number from their system but they obviously have not. What to do? Please help.

Alexis Enterprises and Knox Networks have no address listed, only a cell phone number. I believe both of these companies are home based; how do I get the addresses of these two businesses? Neither is listed in the white or yellow pages.

I want to offer a similiar service to the yellow pages on my website where it just shows local numbers. Can I copy and paste from other sites because its all public information? Can I scan a phone book with some image converter? What can I do?
I want to make money off it instead of linking would rather have my own database with ads. Contacting each and every business would obviously be alot of work. I want to start out with just a standard list then a section for business to click to become sponsored I run a community toolbar would be a nice feature
i own a community toolbar and want it for conveinence. I figure why link to someone else If i can just have my own database of numbers. Eventually business’s will start searching for numbers and see my ad for purchase a sponsored spot. Very simliar to how everyone else works. I will not charge users it will be free

but didn’t get a decent answer. How many of you have gotten rid of your home or business phone and now use only your cell phone for your calling ? Have you found this to be working out for you or do you feel the cost of the landline phone was worth it for your phonebook ad that you may have lost by keeping only your cell as a main contact source? I am not aware of the way some area phonebooks are handling this but I am aware that yellow pages are taking your cell numbers as listings. I am also wondering about fax machines and how you are handling your system on this. I have both plans but the cost is getting out of control and I am thinking of going to a plan for my cell with the business # since I have it on me all the time anyway. What’s your feelings on this ? I would love to hear your answers whether it’s home or business related.

Whoa, if it’s too much to read , why answer ? I feel it’s a serious poll and if you don’t want to take time to read and answer you can move on.
