There are a lot of variables in this equation.
First, what international long distance plan, if any, is being used? If no plan is being used, the rate is considerably higher than if some plan is being used that reduces the per-minute rate of the call. Typically, residential phone lines have a few more low-cost choices for long distance plans than business lines; but this varies by provider.
Second, are you calling a land line in Australia or a cell phone in Australia? If you are calling a cell phone in Australia, the per-minute charge will be much more expensive as every minute includes a international mobile phone termination charge. Again, your provider can tell you for certain what the international mobile phone termination charge is with their service.
I would venture that a call made from a residential land line in Florida to a mobile phone in Australia would cost around 35 cents per minute without an international long distance plan. But again, once you define your specific costs, you can create a much better cost estimate.
Best of luck!
I phone Australia on a regular basis from UK, but I use "telediscount.co.uk " for 1 p per minute, so if you are in UK go for it . I call Australia cheaper than phoning next door.
